The Winner Is… (Heats 7 and 8 Results)

Hello people! I can’t believe it’s already June and I know no one probably cares, but I’m still trying to do this. So hopefully you’re ready, because it’s time for the final sets of results for The Winner Is…! There were 11 votes cast in the poll for Heat 7 and 10 were cast for Heat 8, mainly because they closed the day of semi-final one. So, did your favorite make it to the final or second chance (I know everyone’s so anxious to find out results from a month ago)? Find out now. First, the direct qualifier from Heat 7. And the winner is…

“Bensin” was written and composed by Ingjerd Østrem Omland. Performed by Østrem Omland as Moi, the song finished in either fourth or fifth place in the third semi-final of Melodi Grand Prix 2014, which was eventually won by Carl Espen with “Silent Storm.”

And the second chance qualifier is…

“Search” was written and composed by Norman Salumäe. Performed by Salumäe, the song finished sixth in Eesti Laul 2014, which was eventually won by Tanja with “Amazing.”

This means that “Fight Against Myself” by Elaiza and “Tule ja jää” by Kõrsikud have been eliminated from the competition. Here’s a recap for this heat as well as a table of the finalists so far.

Now let’s move onto Heat 8 and its direct qualifier. And the winner is…

“Hela natten” was written and composed by Peter Boström, Thomas G:Son, Josef Johansson, Jonas Lundblad, and Peo Thyrén. Performed by Johansson, the song finished seventh in the fourth semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2014, which was eventually won by Sanna Nielsen with “Undo.”

And the second chance qualifier is…

“Songbird” was written and composed by Johan Fransson, Tim Larsson, Tobias Lundgren, and Sharon Vaughn. Performed by Ellen Benediktson, the song finished seventh in the final of Melodifestivalen 2014, which was eventually won by Sanna Nielsen with “Undo.”

This means that “Cotton Candy Hurricane” by MarieMarie and “Set Yourself Free” by Little Great Things have been eliminated from the competition. Here’s a recap for this heat as well as the final table of the finalists!

So that’s it! After a month of voting (and a month of delay), we’ve got the 16 finalists for The Winner Is…! Come back soon for the opening of the Second Chance round!

the winner is top 16

Peace,

-Nick

OH YEAAAAAAH, some justice for Josef!!!! You can probably guess that my vote in that heat went his way, but I thought it would be Melfest-style disappointment all over again!! I'[m gonna be partying hela natten to celebrate this.
