The Winner Is… (Heats 3 and 4 Results)

It’s time for the third and fourth sets of results for The Winner Is…! There were 19 votes cast in the poll for Heat 3 while 12 were cast for Heat 4, and there were, once again, close finishes in both; the top two only had one vote separating them in each heat! So, did your favorite make it to the final or second chance? Find out now. First, the direct qualifier from Heat 3. And the winner is…

“Red” was written by Joy Deb, Linnéa Deb, Anna Lidman, Hannes Lundberg, and Michael Ottoson. Performed by Lidman, Lundberg, and Ottoson as EKO, the song finished in eighth place in the third semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2014, which was eventually won by Sanna Nielsen with “Undo.”

And the second chance qualifier is…

“Sängyn reunalla” was written by Mikko Pohjola and composed by Pohjola and Jukka Immonen. Performed by Pohjola, the song finished second in UMK 2014, which was eventually won by Softengine with “Something Better.”

This means that “En enkel sång” by CajsaStina Åkerström and “Kus on EXIT?” by August Hunt have been eliminated from the competition. Here’s a recap for this heat as well as a table of the finalists so far.

And the second chance qualifier is…

“Til þín” was written by Guðrún Eva Mínervudóttir and composed by Trausti Bjarnason. Performed by Guðrún Árný Karlsdóttir, the song finished in the bottom three of the second semifinal of Söngvakeppnin 2014, which was eventually won by Pollapönk with “Enga fordoma/No Prejudice.”

  1. Shevek says:

Good results in heat 3 followed by not so good rsults in heat 4. ‘Amor’ is much more interesting than ‘High Hopes’, imo.

  2. Patrick P. says:

I’m not okay with this. Perfect results from Heat 3, but “Amor” should be in the top top instead of “Til þín.”
